Director of E-Commerce - DAVIDsTEA Location: Mont-Royal, Quebec, Canada (On-site if in Montreal, Remote if outside Montreal - Canada & USA) Employment Type: Full-time Company Overview DAVIDsTEA is a leading branded retailer and growing wholesaler of specialty loose leaf tea with operations spanning e-commerce and 20 Canadian retail locations. The organization emphasizes innovative flavours, wellness-driven ingredients, and organic tea, positioning itself on making tea fashionable and fun. Role Overview This position requires a dynamic and data-driven digital leader responsible for building, optimizing, and scaling DAVIDsTEA's social media and e-commerce business across the U.S. and Canada, with a focus on international expansion via new global site launches. Key Responsibilities Customer Acquisition & Digital Marketing - Accelerate performance marketing initiatives in 2026, demonstrating measurable sales and profitability gains for the e-commerce channel. - Supervise comprehensive digital marketing efforts including performance marketing, paid media, SEO/SEM, CRM, and lifecycle marketing. - Create data-informed strategies for customer acquisition, retention, and loyalty programs tailored to international markets. - Collaborate with Brand Marketing and e-commerce teams to ensure campaign alignment with brand values and creative storytelling. - Influence creative development using data insights to support customer acquisition objectives. - Manage paid media spending strategically across Canada, the US, and international markets. - Partner with internal teams or external agencies to continuously refine creative approaches around best-selling products by market. Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work with Online Store, Retail Stores, Merchandising, Marketing, and Customer Operations teams for cohesive seasonal campaigns and omnichannel integration. - Lead initiatives to understand consumer behavior, category trends, and emerging global opportunities. - Collaborate with Creative and Content teams to deliver compelling, digital-first brand experiences that drive engagement and purchase. Team Leadership - Build, mentor, and lead a Performance Marketing team with agency support. - Foster a culture of curiosity, experimentation, and continuous improvement. - Drive operational excellence through data transparency, performance measurement, and cross-functional alignment. Required Qualifications - Minimum 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in Performance Marketing, eCommerce, digital marketing, or digital retail with demonstrated record of managing full-channel e-commerce performance. - Proven success driving growth and profitability in e-commerce. - Hands-on experience with Shopify Plus, Klaviyo, Google Analytics and Meta Ads. - Strong understanding of both Canadian and US e-commerce landscapes. - Experience building and scaling US-dominant e-commerce businesses. - Demonstrated success launching and managing North America performance marketing operations. - Deep expertise in digital marketing channels, site merchandising, analytics, and UX/UI optimization. - Strong operational acumen with experience improving sales & increasing performance marketing efficiency. - Proven ability to lead diverse teams and collaborate across departments to achieve goals. - Entrepreneurial mindset with passion for digital commerce and brand storytelling. - Bachelor's degree (required); MBA or relevant graduate degree (preferred). - English required; bilingualism in English/French is beneficial but not required.
